Achieving optimal mental health through mindfulness with the Wellness Solutions 464 Pillars of Wellness

Specialties

My name is Kayla and I'm glad you're here. On my journey through this life, I am grateful to have the opportunity to further study and practice as a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and certified Functional Nutrition Practitioner. As a licensed mental health clinician, optimal wellness is the ultimate goal. My training has prepared me to collaborate with you to discover areas in your health and life that are compromising your wellness. Working together, we can develop YOUR custom wellness plan.

Professional Development

Academic training

I received a bachelors degree in nursing in 2005 from the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing and a Master's of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from Walden University. I received certification as a Functional Nutrition Practitioner in 2023 from Functional Nutrition Alliance. This training allows me the ability to diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe, and manage psychotropic medications to patients across the lifespan.

Clinical experience

In my nursing career, I have worked with children, adults and geriatric patients as a pediatric ER nurse, post-operative floor nurse and long-term care nurse. I have worked as a peer-to-peer counselor for adult and adolescent patients, the clinic/nurse manager for a crisis pregnancy center, and trained as a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I continue to see geriatric patients in the long-term care setting as a PMHNP on a full-time basis.

464 Pillars of Wellness

Body

We are wholly affected by the mindful acts of purposeful breathing, how we move our bodies physically, what we allow our eyes to see and ears to hear, and our mouths through our speech and oral consumption.

Mind

We are wholly affected when we are mindful of the quality of the mind's thoughts, beliefs, acceptance, empathy, judgement, and truth.

          Spirit

We are wholly affected by mindfulness of our spiritual health through hope, peace, and gratitude.

Let's Talk

The first step on your journey is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
